Faithful Friend

MAX, is our sheltie. He is 10 years old. He was my bro-in-law, Randy's dog. When Randy was ill with pancreatic cancer...MAX was ALWAYS lying beside him. Leaving only to potty and eat. He was loyal and faithful and present for all of Randy's illness...except...the morning of Randy's passing...MAX came out of the bedroom...down the hall and layed on the kitchen floor....looking to Randy's room. Little did we know that within the hour...Randy would leave us. It just makes me all teary thinking about it!
Since then, MAX has been Chuck's nearest and dearest buddy. Chuck's voice must be similar to Randy's...he has such a need to be loved and petted and reassured by Chuck. Sometimes he can't get close enough...even tho he is sitting in your lap with his head on your chest...with his dog-breath and all....oh, dear MAX! He is such a SOUL-filled pet!
We love MAX....

  1. Oh Deb that's a great story. I remember you telling this story back then and I'm glad to read a post on Max. I love our dogs and the companionship they bring.
